The temple is administered by Pondicherry Utkal Samaj. This is supported by a team of devoted volunteers and executives. The Administrative Office is located within the premises of the Trust.

The divine exalted temple of Lord Shri Jagannath is located on the western outskirts of Pondicherry. It has become an important landmark and contributes to the cultural diversity of the Union territory. Tucked off from the Tindivanam Highway, the temple is situated adjacent to Nalla Farm House, at a distance of 1 km from JIPMER Hospital, Puducherry. It is located opposite to the Aiyannar Temple, and is about 1 km from Sri Prathiyangara Devi Temple. It is at a distance of about 8.5 km from Pondicherry Railway Station and 8 km from the bus stand. One can easily reach the temple by reaching the Pondy-Tindivanam Highway and taking a right turn before the Toll Gate to Sangamitra Convention Centre. One can then proceed westward for about half a kilometre before alighting at the temple.
Shri Jagannath Temple, Puducherry can be conveniently reached by auto-rickshaw or taxi, within a time-span of about 20 minutes from city centre of Puducherry. The nearest landmarks are Sangamitra Convention Centre and Nalla Farm House, which are within a radius of half a kilometre, from the temple.
The temple remains open from 6:00 am to 12:00 am in the morning hours, 12 to 2 pm during noon and between 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the evening hours, on all days of the year. No fees are charged for entry into the temple and there is no specific dress code for temple Darshan. Traditional dress is preferred. But footwear is strictly prohibited inside the temple precincts. A comfortable parking space is there, adequate both for two- and four-wheeler vehicles. Devotees are permitted to take pictures of the temple for non-commercial purposes, but taking photographs of the deities is strictly forbidden. Mobile phones should be ideally in silent or switched-off mode, while taking Darshan of the deities, to respect the sanctity and maintain a disciplined atmosphere in the temple.
